Frazzle came to us from Waterville on the morning of May 13, 2019 where she had been found on a porch at 8 am. Frazzle could barely move. She was brought for help and was immediately taken to the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic for examination and assistance. Frazzle was not in good shape. She was born about May 13, 2017, but weighed only three pounds.

Frazzle was dehydrated, very pale, had halitosis, was emaciated, lethargic, had burdocks matted in her fur and had a purulent discharge coming from her eyes. A thermometer revealed that her body temperature was also several degrees below normal. She was very cold.

Frazzle was warmed up, given intravenous fluids, medications and several tests were conducted to determine if her kidneys and other organs were working properly. Frazzle was so exhausted and weak that, in the next few hours and days, she could barely hold her head up when trying to eat warm food.

On May 14, 2019, Frazzle received a blood transfusion from a generous feline donor which has begun to make a world of difference for her. Thanks, Biggie! You saved her life! Frazzle used the litter box for the first time on May 15 and appears to have the tiniest bit of energy - that's a WONDERFUL sign!

She (and we) would like to thank the Florencevile Veterinary Clinic for their kind and hard work to ensure this little one has a chance at the life she deserves. We'll keep you up to date on her progress.

UPDATE: On May 31, 2019, we learned that Frazzle is improving nicely and is comfortable, happy, purring and content with her huge staff of human servants who wait on her hand and foot, day and night. In June, she required a feeding tube to be inserted as she declined her meals. As of June 28th, she is eating on her own again and feeling better. She'll keep the feeding tube for another week just in case she decides she doesn't want to eat again, but she's doing really well! She hopes she can be well enough to go live with a family soon.
